“Grigore Alexandrescu” Hospital, rewarded for IT innovation

At the INNOVATION AWARDS IN HEALTH on April 3rd, the manager of the “Grigore Alexandrescu” Children Emergency Hospital, Mr. Dan Mircea Enescu MD, received an award for having implemented the first complete portal for patients in a public hospital in Romania

Prof. Dr. Mircea Dan Enescu

The portal “spitaluldecopii.ro” is the main tool we use to communicate with parents, outside the hospital premises. Implementing an innovating information system is a natural step in our strategy to get closer to parents, by providing them with a user-friendly tool in order to talk to the doctors working in the hospital, to set appointments or to view the medical history of their children.  Therefore, we would like to thank everyone who was involved in this project and especially Teamnet Dedalus, who implemented ARMONIA®sanita, Doctor and Patient Portal. “Mr.Dan Mircea ENESCU, MD

The innovation of the project consists of the fact that it is the first portal of a local public hospital, which enables, simultaneously, viewing key information for preparing both patients and parents, providing online appointments tools, viewing medical history, providing opportunities for communication between the parents and the attending physicians and a forum. The portal interface is also optimized to be mobile and tablet-responsive, thus covering the need to quickly collect information on the hospital and doctors, regardless the location.

The data related to the medical history of the patient included in the portal are taken over by the modules in the hospital, and given that they are automatically conveyed, there is no further need to enter them several times. The portal combines a component for the patient and one for the attending physician, who can access information about admissions to hospital, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, and test results upon each return to the hospital of the child.

Patient accounts are subject to the regulations on patient data security and are created only after having received the written consent of the patients or of their guardians. The implementation of the portal is part of the computerization project  “Designing and Implementing a Hospital Computerized, Information, Integrated System at Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital”, consisting of using 3 information systems:  ARMONIA®sanita Portal, a modern, online communication channel between parents and the doctors in the hospital, Patient Management for centralizing the medical information in E-healthcare-records and E-Register and BI Reports for reports and statistics on healthcare services.

At the Innovation Awards in Health, innovating projects from the healthcare system, which contribute to increasing the quality of the medical act and the quality of life have been nominated and awarded. ”Grigore Alexandrescu” Children Emergency Hospital received an award for the IT& Software Innovation category.
